Decided in one visit, delivered around your diary
Senior executives, founders and people in public life come to London Cartilage Clinic because a joint problem has started to cost them time. The assessment is compressed into one visit, the clinic is closed for it, and follow-up happens wherever you are.
How a private clinic day works
Reviewed byProfessor Paul Lee MBBch, FRCS (Tr & Orth), PhDCartilage and joint preservation expertiseWho this page is for
For someone whose diary is managed to the quarter hour, the usual route of a referral, a scan a fortnight later and a consultation after that is not workable. London Cartilage Clinic compresses it. Imaging is reviewed first, a virtual consultation with Professor Lee settles the likely plan, and the visit itself is a closed session with the scan and the consultation on the same day. Follow-up is remote wherever that is clinically appropriate.
Nobody is named on this page or anywhere else on the site. That is deliberate.
What you bring with you
The pressures the clinic plans around
Time is the scarce resource
A single, closed visit replaces the chain of appointments. Everything that can happen before or after by video does.
Travel is constant
Virtual consultation and remote follow-up mean the clinic fits around your movements rather than requiring repeated trips to London.
Confidentiality is expected
The clinic is closed to other patients for your session. Clinical information goes to you and to anyone you nominate, and nowhere else.
How the clinic adapts
In the order it happens
- Step 1
The assessment compressed into one visit
Imaging review and a virtual consultation first, then a closed session with the scan directly before you see Professor Lee.
- Step 2
A closed clinic for your session
The clinic is reserved for you for part or all of a day, subject to availability.
- Step 3
Your office deals with one person
A single coordinator handles the diary, logistics, transfers and accommodation through The Landmark London, with your assistant or chief of staff if you prefer.
- Step 4
Follow-up where you are
Early reviews can be remote where clinically appropriate, and rehabilitation is planned to be delivered near home or on the road.

A closed clinic, built around you and your schedule

Questions we are asked
How much of this can happen before I come to London?
A great deal. Your coordinator gathers existing imaging and records, Professor Lee reviews them, and a virtual consultation settles the likely plan. The visit is then a single closed session with the scan and the consultation on the same day.
Can my assistant arrange everything?
Yes. With your consent a nominated person deals with your coordinator on the diary, transfers and accommodation. Clinical information is shared only with you and anyone you choose.
How is confidentiality handled?
The clinic is closed to other patients for your session, nobody is named in any public material and the clinic does not comment on who it treats. Records are held under the same confidentiality obligations as every patient, and shared only on your instruction.
Is this covered by insurance?
London Cartilage Clinic is direct pay. Where you hold private medical insurance it is usually handled as pay and claim back, using an itemised invoice. A personalised quote follows your assessment.
